North Oaks Pocket Park

Location: Austin, Texas

Client: Austin Parks Foundation

Collaborators: Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Brightview

North Oaks Park, known for its campground-like charm, was transformed into a vibrant recreational space while preserving its natural character. Circle V partnered with Austin Parks Foundation to provide community engagement, sustainable design, permitting, and construction administration. The community-inspired design retained the cedar canopy, added modern play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12, and enhanced trails and amenities. A dry creek for play managed playground drainage, while repurposed cedar trees became nature play elements. The park’s identity was carefully preserved, and the community later added a garden, reflecting its ongoing love for this cherished North Austin space.
